I wanted to try a new style for my winter rims, and instead of pinting them i wrapped them in vinyl, Costs about $10 a rim. This short video shows you how to wrap a rim quickly(sped up 3x), There really is no downfall to doing this, faster and cheaper then painting, the vinyl only weighs .4 ounces or about 50 grams. and thats spread out throughout the rim and if you dont like it then just peal it off. If you want more info or you want to buy some vinyl contact me at Or come contact me at please don't send a message though youtube, I don't come here often.

third year!

Check it out on ebay for the full written DIY.

Or visit my ebay page at

and scroll down to Matte Black Vinyl Rim Wrap 6x 24"x24"

Not trying to be wiser. But I would definitely not do it like that. It might look good for a period but it will not last long! The problem is that your are putting to much stress on the vinyl by pressing it and stretching it that hard. I would cut out a piece in every triangle instead before stretching it.

Everybody bitching about salt, snow, etc. Well i live in Vegas. 350 days of sunshine, no potholes, no snow, no asphalt pieces flying around and little rain. What do you think is going to happen to PlastiDip in those conditions? I lived in Boston for 16 years and have been PlastiDiping and wrapping for 7. I had my front bumper vinyl wrapped around the grill and never had a single scratch. I had my rims dipped and would last one winter only. Enough said.

Good video Bart, I've seen your post claiming this wrap will only work on flat faced rims because the vinyl will only stretch so far. I just noticed on EBay for sale, rolls of vinyl wrap in all colors, that stretches! Is this what you used?
