What do I eat for my meal? Usually a variant of this: http://imgur.com/a/WrPqt (This is from a year back - now I eat less meat, less eggs and less fruit [skip the carrot too]) Also, the gif makes it look like I eat a massive quantity of food, but it's simply showing "before preparation" and "after preparation" (the purple looking drink is simply the vegetables blended up)

No thanks!!!! You still gonna die one day bro. We weren't meant to eat only once a day in the same way that we aren't meant to pee only once a day. Stop going to extremes!!!!

I was recently diagnosed with a fatty liver. I was also overweight, and also had high blood pressure. I did the one meal a day diet for a month and my liver is now back to normal, I have lost over a stone in weight (13.5 stones to 12.1 stones), and my blood pressure is now back to a healthy reading. I also feel a lot better with more energy. I have a treadmill at home and can run for longer and I am not out of breath at the end. I am also saving money and watch what I eat. I make what I eat count. The first week was hard as my body adjusted to not having regular meals, but after a week I didn't feel hungry. I drank a lot of water throughout the day. This worked for me but may not work for everyone and may also be dangerous. Get some medical advice before giving it a try. I BELIEVE THE ONE MEAL A DAY DIET IS THE ANSWER TO AN OVERWEIGHT SOCIETY AND A LOT OF THE PROBLEMS THAT COME WITH IT.

100% on. I have eaten this way for 30 or more years. I drink warm whole milk with 2 cups of coffee in the mornings, sip h2o all day, occasionally (but not always) snack on a few nuts and seeds (less than 1/3cup) and/or bites of fruit (1/4 apple, 1/2 banana, few berries, etc. whatever is fresh), usually fish and salad with vegetables in the evening (my only meal). I'm in my 50s. My weight has remained 125lbs since college. I run 6 miles on most days. If I go out with friends and drink alcohol I'll always have a handful of nuts or an appetizer prior to having a drink. I never think that I am missing out. Did I mention I'm an RN?

Going on with what I was talking about. Since I only eat one meal, it's virtually impossible to overeat. Unless you make a dinner of sticks of butter, it's virtually impossible for me to eat more than about 1400 calories per day.

I've eaten one meal a day since I left my parents home and frequently then too. I'm now in my fifties and people are stunned. They think I'm in my thirties. I'm lean, strong and fit. I have a cup of coffee for breakfast, don't eat lunch and eat a dinner of mostly meat and some vegetables. I rarely eat grains, potatoes or other starches. I'm somewhere between 10 and 15% body fat. Possibly as low as 8%...measurements are notoriously unreliable but I do have a washboard abdomen but I'm not totally shredded with complete muscle separation. You can see some muscle striations in my arms and shoulders and have a lot of muscularity, especially on my arms.

I have no energy crashes and the only health issues I have are from injuries from extreme sports as a child and teen. I do regular cardio, resistance training and avoid the sun like the plague.

Why did I choose this style of eating? I really didn't. I just did what my body told me to do.

You can survive on one big meal a day with snacks if you are elderly and disabled . But only if you eat healthy food. You must stick to at least 150 carbs more if you are above 150lbs and more if you are healthy working and train regularly by excercising.

Muslims fast once every year! Prophet Mohammed PBBUH Was fasting two days a week. And they were all eating small portions. Prophet Jesus PBUH was fasting and eating very less so were all the earlier prophets. Yet we didn’t trust and didn’t follow them.

Wikipedia - Insulin: "An insulin molecule produced endogenously by the beta cells is estimated to be degraded within about one hour after its initial release into circulation (insulin half-life ~ 4–6 minutes)."
You won't be having high concentrations of insulin in your blood for long, after meals.

Very, very, very well said. I've done some of these ideas and found them freeing from our unconscious and uncontrolled eating rituals. Vitamin C can be miraculous.

I tried this for 3 months, only once a day which is dinner, and doing great, and then suddenly my head started spinning and I have to find sugary foods quick. This is diet risky
