LED Music Controller Test LM386 Audio Amplifier 1 day ago   00:39

Here I am testing an LED Music Controller. It is modified to have an AUX 3.5mm Audio Input. This allows me to put the device on a helicopter, disable the onboard mic and pulse the lights based on a direct audio input. This is necessary as you will hear the props on the external mic. The Music Controller will receive audio via RF transmission (5.8Ghz) from the ground. This way, I can control the songs and simultaneous playback so the lights pulse to the music on the ground. Lastly, I found an RF version (433Mhz) for longer range.

Next step is to get an in-line audio control as the gain sensitivity on the Music controller only affects the external mic. The in-line audio control will act as a gain. This way, I can turn the "volume/sensitivity" down so the lights are reacting properly without having it affect other output volume. If you blast music without this regulation, your LED lights will be too sensitive.

This is a build video of a very simple audio amplifier based on the LM386 chip. It can be built for less than $20 and used to amplify any low level audio signal including a guitar, bass or mp3 player.
