Two perspectives on the future of computer sciences Software Engineering and the Future 1 day ago   07:12

Here's my view on the future of computer sciences. In a nutshell, I see two options: building a fence around what we tend to call "real" computer sciences, or teaming up with scientists from other disciplines and developing New Sciences, such as Computational Social Sciences or Digital Humanities. I firmly believe that computer sciences, or rather, Informatics, forms the core of many new developments surrounding us. Computer scientists need to move toward those new fields.
