Drove that way eastbound on an early weekday afternoon (Wednesday; 2nd week of july I'm almost certain)... I had a hunch traffic volumes were past "oh crap; we should've made this an interstate to begin with!"... but I had absolutely no idea it was among the deadliest nationwide... that state in general will probably remain the absolute most beautiful places I've ever been to... I'll be back first chance...

Beautiful scenery. Interesting story at the end. Thank you.

That canyon reminds me of DeBeque canyon in Colorado

I always look forward to these videos they look absolutely stunning on the 65 in TV.. and I really liked extra commentary at the end. I too have not changed the tire in probably 20 years. LOL

65-70 miles always seem to go by faster for me when you have plenty of great views along the way. I-24 from Chattanooga to Nashville always flies by for me because of the mountainous stretch between Chattanooga and Monteagle. Meanwhile, 65-70 miles of I-16 to Savannah is pure torture due to nothing but flat, straight stretches of nothing but trees.

This was quite the epic journey. I always thought Utah roads beyond the interstates are sparsely traveled, but this is quite a busy route. Guess because it's a shortcut to SLC. You got something on my list to see whenever I make it out West. The hard way, that is.

I notice you play the "If there was no heaven" song in some of your past videos too.

Given the expense of upgrading this highway to Interstate standards on such rugged terrain, I don't think it will ever happen. I know it's a good shortcut from westbound Interstate 70 to northbound Interstate 15, but we live in a world with an anti-tax sentiment and plenty of other more pressing projects (like roads that need repairs).
Jason Hsu
I'm amazed by how much the road kept changing. It was a regular 4-lane divided highway, a regular 4-lane undivided highway, a regular 2-lane undivided highway, a 3-lane highway, and a Super Two with entrance/exit ramps.

I felt a sense of deja vu when watching part of this video. Then I remembered that you used the same song in your 2015 season finale, where you were following a 1970s land yacht in New Orleans.

Why are the speed limits on that stretch of US 6 set so high given the danger? 60-65 mph seems too fast given the winding road and limited visibility, and it doesn't help that much of it is 2-lane undivided. Then again, like residential side streets, parking lots, and many city streets, this is one of those places where I'd ignore the speed limit because it's too fast. In contrast, rural Interstate highways are where I have to watch my speed because of the lack of cues to slow down.

Mmmmm, In-N-Out Burger! It tastes better than skinny feels and is worth getting handcuffed by Sheriff Buford T. Diet. :)

There's a Whataburger in Thomasville,GA.

I drove that route in the other direction a couple of years ago. It's a beautiful drive. Thanks for sharing. I'm sorry about your tire issues but glad you and your wife got it taken care of and were back on the road quickly!

Been watching your videos for years now I can put a face with them, going to make a trip out west some day. thanks Steve

Best Off-Road Vehicles of All Time 19-10 US-6 West: The Canyons 2 days ago   02:58

People love to off-road and their experience is usually only as good as the vehicle they're doing the wheelin’ in. That’s probably why some people build the craziest and wildest off-road machines that you have ever seen. Some machines are designed in the military, and some designed by people like me and you. We found some really cool machines that can go over almost terrain and some that are so cool you won’t want to miss them. Now check out these best off-road vehicles.
