Arsenal want Barcelona forward Dembele to be their final summer signing, with reports of a bid emerging on deadline day. Claims from Spain have claimed that the Gunners have tabled a £90million bid for the France international as they aim to challenge for the Premier League title. Arsenal admire Dembele and would love to snap him up, despite him struggling to find his form for Barcelona last season. And BBC Sport reporter Ornstein has now opened up on their interest, shutting down any talk of a spectacular deadline day transfer.  He tweeted: “Reports of Arsenal bid for Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele false. “As previously reported incoming business completed a month ago. “Were open to exceptional deal if chance arose (admire & have links to Dembele) but never realistic. “#AFC optimistic on Ramsey contract but not close.”  Uncertainty over Dembele’s Barcelona future has been rife ever since the club landed Malcom from Bordeaux. Speaking in June, though, club president Josep Maria Bartomeu insisted he would not be leaving the Nou Camp. He said of the 21-year-old: "Dembele will go nowhere. He and Coutinho are a big investment for us. "They are very important to our project and we expect a lot from them. "Coutinho in the last four months has been very active in the team but Dembele is a very young player and talented and we expect great things. “Next season will be different. It's not easy to play at Barca in your first year because the style of football is quite different from at other teams." Arsenal are not expected to sign any more players this summer. But Barcelona could yet make one more addition with Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba their dream target.

Arsenal made waves in the transfer window last summer as Bernd Leno, Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Stephan Lichtsteiner rocked up at the Emirates. And while Lichtsteiner has failed to replicate his Juventus form since joining the Gunners, Unai Emery and co. are interested in the free agency market once again. With just six months now left to run on his Porto contract, Herrera will be available at no cost at the end of the season. And Arsenal chiefs Sven Mislintat and Raul Sanllehi seem to be interested in adding him to Emery’s squad as they face the prospect of losing Aaron Ramsey for nothing. Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web claim Arsenal are aiming to get Herrera on board in the summer. However, they are not alone in targeting the midfielder, who has won 70 caps for Mexico. Wolves are also interested in bringing Herrera to the Premier League when he quits Porto. And their recent captures of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho prove they mean business. Roma have apparently attempted to put a deal in place for Herrera this month. The Tijuana-born ace is said to have been offered a four-year contract by the Serie A giants. But he is going to wait until the summer to make up his mind with Porto rejecting a bid for him as well. Roma’s rivals Inter Milan have cast their eye towards Herrera as he approaches the end of his deal. New Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta is looking for players he can snap up on free transfers. Two Spanish clubs are keen on Herrera too, with Sevilla and Atletico Madrid lining him up for a switch. The 28-year-old’s decision on his future will supposedly be determined by who makes him the best salary offer. So Arsenal will likely have to be prepared to spend big to entice him to head to north London.
