Anna Kreditor doesn’t keep a chore chart anymore. She uses RoosterMoney. The app and others like it are helping parents motivate kids and sparking conversations about money at an early age. Photo: Adam Falk/The Wall Street Journal

I like this app. I think it is a great idea, again it shows and teaches kids the value of hart work. and the fact that its on there phone it just completely fits in to todays way of living. overall it teaches them about work which is a good start.

Why did that kid start doing a weird dance at 1.54

this concept is interesting because it doesn’t seem to help kids learn important values in life, but instead, to learn to work hard to satisfy their desires. Which, in my opinion, creates selfish people.

If you're shrugging your parenting off on an app, you get everything you deserve. If you want to teach them the value of money, explain in concepts they'll understand. For example, they want a new toy, fine. That means no ice cream for the week or getting their favorite fast food etc. That will teach them the value of money better than any app, because as an adult that's the type of choices they'll have to make. And we wonder why society is going into the toilet.

Monetizing house chores teaches children they chores are non-obligatory and makes them ignore real costs of living like rent and electricity. I'm not saying demand rent from your kids, but don't teach them chores are something 'extra' they can do to earn money. They should see chores as something they do to keep their family home neat and tidy, and not as a means to an end.

Americans are so privileged there so spoiled not knowing what other people in the world have to go through “i spend it on fornite”.

Plot twist: now he pay rent to stay there 🤣

That's awful! In the future, your child won't do any duties or household chores without money. Imagine that you just asked your son "can you help me in the kitchen?" - Sure it will cost you 30$

Poor parenting 100%

It is actually not about the money, it is about the financial education...no free money in this world...work to earn...even some of the billionaires teach their kids this way
Ethelbert Cabrigas
what? kind of app is this? you let your kids do the chores just for the money? oh common.
Jose Dominguez
Kids later regret about what they spend on a game that doesn't give you anything.
Rich Campbell
😂😂😂 So basically she turned her kid to a gig economy worker
Alejandro Jimenez
It is better to just teach the kids to save and spend it right places. I'm not sure that associating regular maintenance of the household with money is a particularly good idea. It gets the job done, but it might not become an independent habit.
Nicholas Babu
Who said parenting is hard!!? kids can now raise their school-fees by helping at home!!

I'm sorry, _kids phone???_ tf? I didn't have a phone till I was 18
Mega Mijit
white parents logic, pay kids to do chores instead of discipline
Coldsea Hsia
He literally earned more for chores than me from the full-time job. I'm a Chinese 😭

Funny times we find ourselves in. Like they say "hard times make strong people, strong people make easy times easy times make weak people and weak people make hard times. 🤔🤔🤔
