CFNS is a new center for research in Quantum Chromodynamics, with initial focus on the realization of US electron ion collider (EIC). The Center aims to promote this project through training and promoting of the best young talent in nuclear and particle physics as post-doctoral fellows and students, be a place where scientists around the world interested in working on the future EIC can come to and participate in workshops, meetings and discussions that will enhance the EIC science. It hopes to be the place be the “go-to” place for everything related to the EIC science and its realization outside of the two possible locations of the EIC (BNL and Jefferson Laboratory).
