Not key to the success of cities. Key to the success of our species on this planet.

While these efforts are definitely good, I think they miss the real problem. Single-use products of any material are inherently wasteful because they require nonstop production. It's horribly energy-inefficient to pump resources into something, only to have it be used for 10 minutes before getting thrown away. We need a shift towards reusing everything, like how it was for most of history.

Somebody please help explain this to me if I am wrong - there is cheap biodegradable plastic available in the market - PLA plastic. Is that not the solution? I understand that older plastics still need to be recycled, which I think we can deal with over the long term (through chemical recycling), if we can first stop the problem getting worse every day by adding to the mountains on non recycled plastics.

Its my passion to recycle but that amount of money to start that project is beyond me💔

PET is not polyester. It's polyethylene terephthalate.

Just make a power generation plant that uses plastic as its fuel just like in Sweden. Sweden also generates revenue from this process because some Euro countries brings their plastic garbage to Sweden for burning.

Canada has a solution... send all the trash to 3rd world country. Easy.
Terang
This is funny because those plastics that they can’t process are dumped to 3rd world countries.

The government should force everyone to go back to glass

In Pakistan, China and the U.S. are clashing over China's One Belt, One Road initiative. To understand what's at stake, it helps to take a look at why China is in Pakistan in the first place.
