If you are in manual mode and floor it , forget to shift , will it shift automatically or what happens ?
Adrianus
My question is: Is automatic mode faster than paddle shifting?

Old ppl (Sunday grandpa drivers) and posers get autos for a sports car. I mean posers as in those who are afraid or cannot drive fast due to lack of skills or poor eyesight or poor reaction time or poor driving decision skills and only buy the car to show off that they have the car. I see a lot of young kids who are afraid of driving fast in their Italian/German/Corvette sports cars. They literally drive like grandpa. This is a shame as it wastes the potential of the car. But then again, if these kids were to drive fast, they'd crash and burn within 1/2 block. Stick to a Tesla self driving car I say.

I love my auto, people sometimes call me a pussy for it but i just tell them all youre doing is just changing the gears yourself, just like going manual in an automatic, but with a stick and a clutch, i dont want to worry about that the whole time im driving

We own a 2014 C7 Stringray convertible, auto transmission. Just now selling our 2001 C5 convertible, manual transmission. My husband is called to participate in parades all the time. It is exhausting to clutch for a 2 mile parade! After he ran a marathon, I had to drive him home; he hadn’t saved any energy to be able to clutch his way home.

Bruh, if you want a slower corvette, get the manual transmission. If you want the faster corvette, get the automatic. Back in the old days the manuals where faster. But the technology today has made the automatic faster. Bottomline, now days get the automatic to get the faster corvette. Back in the old days, you bought the manual to get the faster version. Thats why theres a lot of older people who always got manual because that was always the faster version. And since corvette really doesn’t strongly advertise that the automatic is faster. Because of that the old timers still assume the manual is faster, because that was true in the old days. Now days automatic is faster. Trust me, if manual was faster then automatic, manual would out sale automatic. The majority of people buy sports cars for speed. So whatever version is the faster, thats the one that will sale more.

I just bought a C5 and didn't even shop manuals. Reason being that the 4L60E is very reliable and I didn't have to worry that a previous owner mistreated or misused the clutch. I drove manuals for so long too that I'm honestly just don't enjoy them anymore. Yes the manual is probably a few tenths quicker but this car is plenty fast with the A4 and I enjoy the hell out of it..

I discovered your channel not too long ago and I wanted to say thank you for providing us with such quality videos. The information has helped me make a more informed decision about my purchase. I previously had a mustang gt but have just ordered a stingray. I do have a question and I apologize if you have addressed this issue in a previous video. Do corvettes have a much lower profile than mustangs ? I ask because I’m concerned about scratches on the bottom with potholes, steep driveways etc. I have experience with maneuvering a mustang but wondered if the corvette was the same or lower. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading my comment and keep up the great work !

I'm almost 70 years old and finally got my first Corvette. My dream since I was a kid. I went with a manual and never even considered getting a automatic. Maybe I'm old school, but a Corvette has to be a manual. Just my opinion , but that being said I still like roll down windows! LOL

i drove a C7Z51 manual in germany on autobahn and heaby traffic in city too. I sometimes get nisshifts from 5th upwards and back and dont like it in heavy traffic or launching on wet surface ! I definately would go with autmatic.

As much as I love manuals, I had to sell my manual ‘16 2SS Camaro because I want to buy an automatic C7 Z06.

I was looking for a straight up how do I up shift and down shift my new 2019 Stingray automatic...in Manual mode. Can you point me to an instructional video please on that topic alone.
Martin Mdl
The price of the automatic transmission is more than $1725. Add in the difference of the gas guzzler tax which is maybe another $1000. Am I wrong?
