@bridge4 if you had a choice of dragon glass dagger what color would you choose?

I don't know. I really liked the idea of them reversing the Night King's curse. You have a point, in that it is good for Arya's story to kill the Night King, and I realize this is Game of Thrones. Hope isn't exactly plentiful. But it would have been interesting to watch life be given back to an embodiment of death in a story filled with the death of so many characters we love. It could have been a turn for the world at large, a change in tone, the start of a new day. It's called the War for the Dawn, after all.

Look, I get the whole sentiment that there was a bit of foreshadowing, that GOT emphasizes how prophecies aren't always fulfilled, and how the writers wanted to play with expectations, but I don't think Arya should've been the one to kill the Night King. You may be right in believe that Jon would've been too predictable, or too storybook-like, but I don't think we should sacrifice logic for unpredictability. Something I heard (probably from another YouTuber, or maybe a quote from GRRM himself) is that if you write a story building up to and foreshadowing one event taking place, but then someone online figures it out before it happens, that doesn't mean you should change the ending to make it more surprising. I love Arya, and I think it's important that she plays a role in the episode, but she is not the light bringer. A lot of the evidence you brought up happens exclusively in the TV adaptation. If this is the ending that D&D planned for seasons 7 & 8, then sure, there was foreshadowing, but if we're going by book canon it just doesn't make sense. If Jon having a sword fight with the Night King, ending with him cutting down the icy villain, using Longclaw was, in fact, too predictable, then there were other routes to take. There are ways to fulfill the prophecy that don't involve "the hero slaying the villain for a happily ever after." One theory that I've heard is having the Night King's power attached to the natural magic of the Great Weirwood. Perhaps if Dany traveled beyond the wall and burned the tree, we would achieve that GRRM bittersweet ending. Jon is the song of ice and fire. He is the son of a Stark and a Lannister. He has the blood of direwolves (and white walkers if that's what you believe) and dragons. For him to not have been involved in the demise of the Night King whatsoever, and instead pointlessly have yelled at a dead dragon while his little sister/cousin did all the work, makes no sense at all.

What if Jon was the Prince that was Promised, and Arya is Lightbringer? He took back Winterfell, and made it possible for his sister to come home.

Maybe Arya will take on Grey Worm, what are the odds?
MCP/ChronicBuzz
"How did you sneak up on me?!"
"How did you survive a dagger through the heart?"
"I didn't"

And all that happened in the exact same spot the guy who survived a dagger in the heart didn't survive a second dagger to the heart.

I am always team Arya the night wolf , it's the best character for me , she has learned a lot through a really hard and dark journey.

The only thing I really wanted from the GOT8 episode 3 that if the war was longer and last for like 2 or 3 episodes it would've been a much better , but I loved it anyway.

Did Greyworm reveal Jon Snow's fate? Arya Stark, the Night Wolf, 2 days ago   08:37

We now know that Jon Snow's parent got married. So Jon Snow was legally named Aegon Targaryen by Rhaegar Tarygaryen and Lyanna Stark.

But Jon Snow has always wanted to be Jon Stark? Now that he is King, he has the power to change his name. Will Jon Snow change his name to Jon Stark?

Or will Jon change his name to Aegon Targaryen?

Or will Jon Snow always be Jon Snow?

This video is both an analysis of events from past seasons of HBOs "Game of Thrones" as well as Game of Thrones Season 8 theories and Game of Thrones Season 8 predictions.
