How to Replace a Transmission (Full DIY Guide) The Coolest Transmission You've Never 6 months ago   28:24

Transmission removal, replacement, and installation. Learn how to remove a transmission so you can replace your clutch or flywheel, or so you can rebuild your transmission and install a new one in your car or truck.

In this video I show you the 10 simple steps on how to replace a transmission. I am doing this on a rear wheel drive 98 Mustang but the process is very similar on other rear wheel drive, front wheel drive, and even automatic cars and trucks. Each detailed step will allow you to learn how to remove a transmission yourself so you can replace a clutch, flywheel, rear main seal, throw out bearing, pilot bearing, or just swap transmissions.

I don't mean to criticize, but how come you didn't explain to mark the drive shaft before you remove it, so you don't install it wrong and cause vibrations while driving? And I know you should never drop the drive shaft, but why are you dragging it? Does that mess it up? Or can you do that?

This might be a silly question but can you change the transmission from automatic to manual with this?
(It would be for a 2008 honda fit they offer it in both automatic and standard so the manual transmission does exist.)
California Dude
How long did it take total to change the transmission and what a good floor jack to use ?
Do these torque specs apply for the 2000 v6 mustangs too? Also on the clutch video do those specs also work with this car?

When I was 16, I thought I had designed something that would be revolutionary, turns out (heh) I was not only wrong about that, but also wasn't the first guy to have that idea. I wish I still had my original build to show you guys, but since I didn't I went and designed another one, but better!
