Video game graphics are fun to compare when it comes to franchises that have been around for awhile. Here's part 2 of our series.

Agreed on GTA, though comparatively from GTA to GTA3, I feel the style was better retained.

Though, I remember when the premier trailer for GTAIV came out. Everything was destined to become more-realistic after that.

water in skyrim terrible, just look at half life 2, or crysis 1, that games realesed before skyrim, but water in crysis or half-life 2 looks much better then in skyrim, maybe it because skyrim realesed on PS3, but i'm sure, PS3 have games with much better water than in skyrim

Looking at a water in skyrim he went "wow, i haven't seen anything like this before". Like wtf? Haven't played crysis? 3 year older game that looked a shit ton better than skyrim? Like don't get me wrong, skyrim is decent looking game in terms of graphics, but even in its time it was never WOW moment for the graphics.

The problem with the first AC, as some sort of "fan" of it, is that it's a little stiff and clunky, the visuals are drab because of the textures and more so the colors, but the bigger problem being the gameplay being not that engaging and repetitive, as well as the story not being that gripping. - I felt no need to keep playing other than just wanting to see all of the world and finishing it for the sake of it... ACII was an improvement because of the more interesting protagonist to begin with, but also the other characters and a more lively and colorful world, with some more gameplay features and being generally more engaging. Just too bad it was so poorly optimized for PC... damnit... And I said "fan" of the first because, while I loved the idea of being this assassin in that setting, with basically just swords and blades, all the things I've mentioned before kept it down. I wanted it to be better, really... I don't hate it, but I can't quite love it. It's just not going to make any "best games" lists, unless we're speaking of like medieval type games.

Fun fact; Assassin's Creed (yes, the first) was one of the first games they specifically recommended 3GBs of RAM for... That seems silly now, as today a minimum of 8GB is normal, with 16GB being pretty common and even 32GB sometimes (though, it's not necessary for games at all to go that far anymore). - But back in like 2005-2006 it was normal to have 2GBs of RAM. That was the average PC's amount of system-memory and 3 or 4 was pretty high-end. - Sure, some people went up to 8 or even 16, but back then that was the equivalent of people having 32 or 64 today. - It wasn't necessary and more for the sake of having it (although, production stuff like visual editing and the like always requires more system memory, but we're speaking of videogames).

NFS "Payback" looks boring... Looks like a carbon copy of... most ones back until "Underground 2" and also like Burnout... "Need For Speed" hasn't been what it was about to me since like "Underground"... I mean, I spent many many hours with Underground 2, an I did like the customization and open world and all, even though that didn't make for gameplay, the racing was still pretty good. And although I kinda hated the trend with tuner-cars and the neon lighting and all that back in the early 2000s, I kinda liked it for a game or two.
But what Need For Speed was to me since THE Need For Speed, Need For Speed II SE and Need For Speed III Hot Pursuit, was that you were racing exotic supercars in exotic or kind of unusual locations. And I'm talking long open roads through beautiful scenery with like mountains and cliffs and tunnels and waterfalls, while racing firebreathing cars that most people can't afford.
I'm still waiting for a current and perhaps even more realistic version of that. - I think this game called Test Drive Unlimited or something got closest, but there were technical issues with that I think. And the problem with most other games is that they mostly follow aracade-y Burnout-like formulas, which also means cars that rotate around their axis and just move all floaty and mostly the same, and you make sparks when you slightly hit anything... They need to cut the crap and make a proper Need For Speed game. - People seem to eat it up, but they just not newer versions of the first 3 or 4 games, they do not have the same essence or concept even. - Where are the damn Ferrarris and Lamborghinis and McLarens and Lotuses and concept cars and electric supercars. - WHERE'S THIS GAME?!
DamageIncM
Why do you jump from the first Need For Speed to "Payback"?... Why not III or say Porsche Unleashed or something... Heck, even the Underground ones. - But why go so far ahead?... The point of these videos was to show the biggest jumps... well, although you didn't set a rule of "in the shortest time or least amount of games"... it's just more interesting between two games next to each other in a series rather than a bunch of games apart.

I remember getting Half Life 1 with my 3DFX card and seeing that monorail intro I was blown away, the textures and lighting were so real I was in awe. Fast forward to 2018 when I went on a nostalgia trip and reinstalled it. WOW, this is not the game I remember at all 🤢.

I lived in Los Angeles for 6 years, from when I was 14 to just after I turned 20 (Last year), and GTA V came out while I was living in LA. I would play the game and then drive around LA in real life and constantly I would go “Oh my god! This area is in GTA V!” They did an AMAZING job of replicating parts of Los Angeles. In reality, my dentist in LA was in the office that would have been JUST to the right of the 100,000 dollar apartment in GTA V.
